The University of North Carolina has catalogued,
to date, a single specimen collected by Charles Phillips Russell.
Perhaps additional specimens will be found as we continue to catalog
our collection.
Dr. Russell was a Professor of Creative
Writing at the University of North Carolina from 1931 until approximately
1966. "He was apparently a very popular teacher," says
Nicholas Graham of the North Carolina Collection. "He wrote
several books, but the one that we get requests for the most often
is These Old Stone Walls (1972), a collection
of stories about Chapel Hill."
